Visit of CULT Committee delegation to Poland
From Monday to Wednesday, 15-17 May 2023, Irena Joveva MEP will visit Poland with CULT Committee delegation to study media freedom. She will meet with representatives of the Polish government, local authorities, media, civil society, academia and cultural representatives. They will examine, among other things, recent developments in education, academic, cultural and media freedom in Poland. She will also visit the city of Lublin, which has been declared this year’s European Youth Capital.

‘‘Renew Europe Goes Local – Slovenija: osrednji del evropske zgodbe’’.
The event will give you an insight into the work of MEPs, the liberal political group Renew Europe and the European institutions at European level and their relevance at local level. They will present the possibilities of cooperation with the local level, the absorption of European funds and the importance of the local environment and its influence on European policy-making.

Migration experiences: a three-generation perspective on identity at a crossroads
Identity on the Line (I-ON) is a large-scale collaborative project co-funded by the European Union and implemented between 2019 and 2023 by six cultural history museums and one university from seven European countries. Its aim was to explore the long-term consequences of traumatic experiences following war, forced migration and the search for a new life and identity in a foreign land. The project examined how these experiences also shape the lives of second and third generation migrants.
The findings of the project have been summarised in publications, a joint travelling exhibition that has toured Europe, and now in the form of a series of recommendations for decision-makers.
MEP Irena Joveva will participate in the second part of the day-long event with a video address, as part of a roundtable with decision-makers, where stakeholders will discuss the findings and recommendations of the I-ON project.
